Melilot Shirt, Deer and Doe patterns
This was my most recent make and my favorite of the year so far. I got this as a Christmas present from my husband Andy from Guthrie and Ghani. It arrived as a pack including pattern, this fabulous fabric, buttons and all notions. So I decided to start it one Sunday morning and was thoroughly enjoying working in my new workshop (the conservatory). The pattern was simple to cut out and instructions easy to follow. I especially loved constructing the french seams which gave the shirt a really lovely finish. My only criticism was finishing the sleeves, which unfortunately took me a few goes. I found this fabric has a little stretch in it and as I got to the end of stitching the sleeves, I found the fabric had stretch and I was left with a little bump. My next problem was with my sewing machine which decided it no longer wanted to sew button holes! So unfortunately I had to wait and use a machine a work to do these. Overall I was really pleased with the outcome and will be making more. My youngest daughter Freya has put in a request for one in a Marvel/Super heroes fabric, please mum!
